The Dorchester, the iconic flagship of the Dorchester Collection, has appointed Kostas Sfaltos as Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms. The Dorchester recently introduced their Sense of Arrival Team, a unique initiative that guarantees a �red-carpet� welcome to every guest. In his new role at The Dorchester, Sfaltos will be entirely focused on ensuring that the guest experience goes beyond all expectations. Areas of responsibility will cover all Front Office operations, Guest Liaisons, Security, Housekeeping and Laundry, Engineering and Spa. He will report to Roland Fasel, General Manager and Regional Director UK. "We have appointed Kostas at an exciting time at The Dorchester. We continue to go from strength to strength when it comes to exceptional service, shown most recently in our recognition as �Favourite Large UK Hotel� in the Sunday Times Travel Magazine Travel Awards," remarked Roland Fasel, General Manager of The Dorchester. �It is important to bring in fresh talent to ensure we stay at the top of our game, so we are delighted to welcome someone with Kostas�s passion and drive for creating a guest experience that surpasses all others.� Commenting on his new role Sfaltos said, "It is a great honour to oversee the operations and guest experience in such an iconic hotel. Sfaltos joins The Dorchester from InterContinental London Park Lane, which he joined in 1998 as Assistant Front of House Manager, ending his ten-year run with a year as Executive Assistant Manager. Sfaltos was involved with the successful re-positioning and re-opening of Intercontinental in his positions as Director of Revenue & Reservations and Director of Rooms consecutively. In 1999 Sfaltos was voted the best manager in the hotel. Other addresses include Britannia InterContinental, currently known as Millennium Mayfair and various 5-Star resort hotels in Greece. Greek by birth, Sfaltos was educated in hotel operations at Rhodes Hotel Management School and went on to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Hotel Management and a Masters of Science (MSc) in Hotel Management. He speaks English and Greek fluently and conversational Italian and German. His interests include a full range of sporting activities and a passion for cooking.
