The Burlington At the Devonshire Arms Hotel, Yorkshire, Receives 3 AA Rosette Award

The Burlington Restaurant at The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, Bolton Abbey, has been awarded 3 AA Rosettes in the 2014 shortlist by AA Hotel Services.

The Burlington is amongst 19 others which were chosen for the prestigious award amongst others in the area including The Design House Restaurant, Halifax.

The Devonshire Arms General Manager, Andrew Mackay, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes for The Burlington Restaurant. It is a sterling achievement for all of the team involved, and a great testament to Head Chef, Adam Smith, who is making his mark at The Burlington with his innovative tasting menus and culinary flair”.

Head Chef, Adam Smith, joined The Burlington in July 2013 after leaving his position as Executive Sous-Chef at The Ritz, London.

At just 26, Adam holds many prestigious accolades under his belt, including Observer Young Chef of The Year Award 2012 and Roux Scholar 2012.

Michel Roux Jr. even stated that Adam 'is definitely one to watch'.

The Burlington tasting menu is served Tuesday - Sunday 7pm - 9.30pm and costs £75 per person.

Adam Smith has also most recently launched his very own 'Afternoon Tea', which is available to the public from Thursday 16th January and The Full 'Afternoon Tea' Experience is available at £28 per person.

The Burlington Restaurant is situated in The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa on The Duke & Duchess of Devonshire's Bolton Abbey Estate, North Yorkshire. 

Each dish is exquisitely and freshly prepared by Head Chef Adam Smith, using Estate meat and game with seasonal vegetables and herbs from The Devonshire Arms' extensive kitchen gardens.

The walls of the restaurant are adorned with classical architectural drawings (from the renowned Devonshire Collection at Chatsworth), while antique tables are dressed with designer silverware, fine crystal glasses and stylish white china.

The Burlington was named “Best Hotel Restaurant” 2013 at the annual Oliver awards and the restaurant has most recently been awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2013.

During the past 10 years, Head Chef Adam Smith has won numerous prestigious awards for his talents as a chef, including a gold medal in World Skills in Calgary, 2009 – making him only the second British chef to achieve this feat in the 45-year history of the competition.
