The Australian - Canadian Conection and Alpine World

Alpine World

In the shadow of Canadas recent billing as the Australian National Travel Industrys Destination of the Year, Alpine World Travel continues its reputation as the Aussie gateway to this most exciting frontier.

No one in Australia is experiencing more wholesale business to Canada than Alpine World says National Sales & Marketing Manager Tammy Marshall. Our Canadian product is strong enough to satisfy the lofty demands of any skier or snowboarder, which keeps our clientele coming back. Overall our numbers to Canadas West ski resorts have grown by more than one third with some regions seeing increases of more than 50 percent thats a reflection of how Alpine World is contributing to the growth of world ski and snowboarder destinations.

Marshall says Alpine World Travels biggest advantage is its employees who are keen skiers and boarders with industry specific expertise. The employees are involved in an extensive training process including visitation to various Canadian ski resorts each year. This, Marshall says its the best kind of primary research available.

Todays snow industry is about much more than just skiing and snowboarding. Besides the experiences on the slopes, there are many other Canadian activities that make the holiday so much more. Activities like Snowshoeing, Snowmobiling, Dog Sledding and Cross country skiing are growing by leaps and bounds and will help to grow the industry.

The exchange rate is another advantage to overseas customers according to Marshall. That, coupled with the one-of-a-kind Canadian hospitality is a major draw to consumers. She says great service and the ability to do more for less is an unbeatable combination.

Marshall is positive about the future prospects of wholesale business to Canada. She says the Canadian product is only going to get better. The town of Golden on the British Columbia Alberta border has recently received the go-ahead for the multi-million dollar construction of Golden Peaks Resort. Garibaldi Alpen is another resort in the works between Vancouver and Whistler. These are places we intend to get into, she says. Its important for us to be open-minded and incorporate as many new resorts and activities as possible. The Canadian season runs for 8 months with better spring conditions than the best in Australia. Its what will sustain us into the new millenium.
