The Augustine Is Named One Of The Top 100 Hotels In The World

The Augustine, Prague

The Augustine (www.theaugustine.com) is honoured to have been named one of the Top 100 Hotels in the World in Travel + Leisure's 2013 World's Best Awards (coming in at joint-52nd place), as well as being the fifth-placed "Top Large City Hotel in Europe", making it the best hotel in Prague.  The awards were announced on 2 July and are online at travelandleisure.com; in addition, they will appear in the August 2013 issue of the magazine.

Every year, the readers of Travel + Leisure, the top US travel magazine that is produced by American Express Publishing Corporation, rate their favorite hotels, resorts, spas, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, rental-car agencies and more in its annual World's Best Awards survey.  Any hotel making the Top 100 Hotels list is considered to have served the T+L readers particularly well as they travel the globe.

The Travel+Leisure review of The Augustine highlighted the property's "authentic sense of place", adding that "Few European hotels can match the Augustine, with its still-active ecclesiastical libraries and 18th-century frescoes, for pedigree".

The Augustine, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is particularly pleased to receive this award at a time when it has recently re-launched itself as an independent hotel, offering another level of luxury to discerning visitors to the Czech capital.

Tom Smit of Waldeck Capital, the owner and now operator of The Augustine, said "We are delighted to have been recognised by the readers of Travel+Leisure, because we strive to provide a world-class service, attending to guests with pride, a warm caring approach, and, of course, discretion, so that great memories and magical experiences are a given, not just a happy coincidence. The fact that the readers, our cherished guests, have chosen to vote for us, underlines the fact that our approach is greatly appreciated".

The T+L acknowledgement joins a long list of illustrious industry awards that The Augustine has collected since it opened in 2009; the principal awards can be found listed below.
