The Ampersand Hotel is inviting guests to celebrate summer in London with a luxury Afternoon Tea picnic package to enjoy in Hyde Park, just a stone’s throw away from the hotel. In addition to hampers brimming with delectable treats straight from The Drawing Rooms, the hotel’s patisserie lounge, guests can also enjoy a tour of the iconic park on horseback as part of the package.
PICNIC IN THE PARK
Set in the heart of South Kensington, The Ampersand Hotel boasts an enviable location on the doorstep of Hyde Park with easy access to the best that London has to offer. Pick up your pre-prepared hamper, which is easy to transport, and take a leisurely walk to the park along Exhibition Road. For a slice of rural tranquility, guests can spread out their luxury picnic blanket on the banks of the Serpentine Lake and enjoy al fresco dining in style with friends or family.
TRADITIONAL AFTERNOON TEA
Upon opening the classic wicker picnic hamper, guests are treated to an Afternoon Tea created by Ji Sun Shin, The Ampersand Hotel’s talented pastry chef. Relish savoury tartines, homemade scones with jam & clotted cream and a selection of delicious sweet pastries including chocolate brownie with peanut butter ganache, victoria sponge cake and English breakfast tea chocolate bonbons. Toast the summer excursion with a refreshing glass of ice tea and celebrate with a glass of champagne, all included within the hamper.
Unique touches included within the hamper enhance this quintessentially British picnic experience, such as the selection of books from The Ampersand Hotel’s library. As part of the package guests can then choose to enjoy a horse-riding lesson in Hyde park; a pastime that’s seen a surge in popularity thanks to the success of the British equestrian team at the 2012 Olympics.
CONNECTING YOU TO THE BEST OF SOUTH KENSINGTON
The Ampersand Hotel’s unique concept is inspired by both the capital’s world-famous cultural district and the iconic ampersand symbol, to illustrate the hotel’s role in connecting its guests to the best of South Kensington.
It’s design has been inspired by the surrounding world-famous museums of Natural History, Science and Victoria & Albert, as well as the Royal Albert Hall, all devoted to botany, music, geometry, ornithology and astronomy. These 5 themes are intricately incorporated throughout The Ampersand Hotel.
