At a dinner in central London last Thursday , attended by the top brass of the UKs most prestigious companies, The AirMiles Travel Company was awarded 69th place in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For of 2004. This is the first year AirMiles has entered the competition and it was one of only 2 travel companies to be placed.
Drew Thomson, Managing Director of The AirMiles Travel Company comments, A company is judged by the quality of its people, and the reality is that quality people only stay in a company that treats them well. At AirMiles we aim to keep our staff feeling motivated and valued and this award shows that were getting it right. We are very proud of our achievement, particularly as this is the very first time weve entered.
The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For survey identifies the best employers in the country based on the views of its employees, and the policies and processes of the employers. It reviews best practice and ranks companies chiefly according to their performance in eight key indicators of employee satisfaction. These eight factors are Company Leader, Immediate Manager, Personal Growth, Wellbeing, Immediate Colleague, Giving Something Back, My Company and Fair Dealing over pay and benefits.
The number of companies entering this prestigious award has gathered momentum each year with companies from a diverse range of industries now seeking to win an accolade. This year, the survey took place across 58,000 employees with 20,152 of the respondents working for the top 100 companies.
