City Cruises

Building on the success of City Cruises' Shakespeare cruises, the leading River Thames sightseeing operator is running a comprehensive programme of cultural cruises. Launched in September 2016, culture vultures are able to take their pick from themed trips including The Great Fire of London and Georgian London to Bridges and Landmarks, Shakespeare and Liquid London.

The evening cruises, running Wednesday – Sunday evenings, at 19.30, include a glass of bubbly and canapes for cruisers to enjoy on board as they glide past London's most iconic sights and learn about the city's fascinating history.

Tourists looking for something a little more dramatic will have the option of booking a Shakespeare cruise and will be treated to a dining experience like no other, hosted by Elizabethan party goers Falstaff and Cleopatra leading proceedings using Shakespearean language.

Evening Cruises (19.30 – 21.30, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday)

Prices start from £30 per person (16+) and include canapes, welcome glass of bubbly, one and a half cruise and expert commentary.

From Great Fire to Great Rebuilding – Wednesdays As we mark 350 years since the Great Fire of London, visitors can hear from expert Mark Rowland about how London's story might have come to a shocking end without the crucial part played by the river.

Bridges and Landmarks – Thursdays From Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge, City Cruises' expert guide will enlighten cruisers on bridges and landmarks, sharing quirky, unusual and unexpected facts and stories that they never knew they never knew…

Georgian Cruise – Fridays Miss Kitty Pridden and Miss B will treat guests to an evening of Georgian conviviality, hospitality and frivolity with sparkling wit, beguiling performances and introductions to some of the most intriguing characters and stories of Georgian London.

Liquid History – Sundays Guests can discover the liquid history of one of the world's most interesting rivers, from The Romans through The Plague, a Great Fire, battles, Elizabethans and Victorian industrial innovation to the magnificent grandeur of the modern age with its iconic Landmarks, bridges and Palaces, presented by a leading expert.

Dining Cruises (20.00 – 22.30, Saturday)

Prices start from £49 per person (16+) and include a two course dinner, welcome glass of bubbly, two and a half hour cruise and live entertainment.

Shakespeare Cruise – Saturdays Revellers will be treated to an evening of theatre, speeches intermingled with facts and quotes on London's most beautiful and relevant landmarks, including, of course, Shakespeare's own Globe theatre. Hosted by Elizabethan party goers Falstaff and Cleopatra, guests will enjoy a two course meal with wine, as their ever enthusiastic hosts trade Shakespearean insults, act out the whole of Hamlet in less than ten minutes, and show them how much of the great bard's language we use on a daily basis.
