Worldwide Events and Tourism Authority of Thailand announce partnership

Worldwide Events, global market leader in 1:1 events for the B2B travel industry today announces its major partnership with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for the revolutionary romance travel event, Amour Asia Pacific taking place in Bangkok, Thailand from 14-17 February next year.

Setting the trend in romance travel networking, Amour is designed specifically for the elite romance travel market, creating a community of destination wedding planners, honeymoon curators and romance travel designers, fitting perfectly with Tourism Authority of Thailand's strategic push to position Thailand as a destination for romantic experiences.

“Wedding and honeymoon travel is one of the top drivers of tourism in Thailand and we have been working on a number of initiatives to position ourselves as the 'romance hub' of Asia Pacific”, said TAT governor, Yuthasak Supasorn.

“We are excited to showcase our beautiful scenery, Thai hospitality and world-renowned luxury wedding venues to the top global buyers of romance travel”.

With the inaugural Amour Asia Pacific being held in Thailand, international romance travel designers and wedding planners will have the chance to learn more about Thailand's excessive products and services for romance travel as well as meet and discuss business prospects, especially with Thai tourism and wedding counterparts. They will also have the opportunity to experience firsthand the wide variety of romance products and services available in major Thai destinations including Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Ko Samui and Chiang Mai.

Richard Barnes, CEO of Worldwide Events said: “We are bringing the world's most influential travel buyers to Asia for a ground-breaking trade event that celebrates the romance travel sector. We specialise in creating the ante-dote to traditional exhibitions and Amour will be a vibrant, dynamic platform that will enable the most in-demand romance destinations, hotels and experiences in Asia to forge relationships with key travel buyers and influencers from around the world. We are thrilled that Thailand will be hosting Amour as it's the beating heart of the romance travel sector in Asia and has been unanimously cited by our buyers as one of their essential destinations.”

Feedback from the inaugural Amour - Europe Edition, held in Venice 2017 found 87 per cent of buyers chose Thailand for weddings and romance trips and 79 per cent listed Thailand in their top 10 destinations for 2018.

“With the high-end luxury romance travel sector predicted to continue to outpace the growth of mainstream travel, Amour will give suppliers throughout Asia Pacific the opportunity to tap into this lucrative market,” added Richard Barnes.
