THAI Signs MOU with Royal Thai Navy to Develop Aircraft Maintenance Center & Air Cargo and Logistics Center.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) and the Royal Thai Navy on phase one in development of the new aircraft maintenance center as well as the air cargo and logistics center.  The MOU was signed by Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI Acting President, and Admiral Na Areenit, Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief, with Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Akhom Tempittayapaisit, Minister of Transport present as guest of honor at the ceremony that was held at U-Tapao International Airport.

The development of Aircraft Maintenance Center & Air Cargo and Logistics Center is part of the project to develop the Special Eastern Economic Corridor, which will elevate Thailand to become an aviation and logistics hub. THAI and the Royal Thai Navy will cooperate and exchange information as well as conduct a joint study as initial groundwork towards the first phase of developing the aircraft maintenance and air cargo and logistics hub for the Asia Pacific region at U-Tapao International Airport, which is an important major milestone for the Company and Thailand. The new aircraft maintenance center and air cargo and logistics hub will be full equipped with new innovations and modern technology.
