Having played an important role in helping Great Britain's men's team prepare for Davis Cup glory this year, La Manga Club remains at the forefront of British tennis and Europe's leading sports and leisure resort will play host to the UK's new generation of stars when it stages the third La Manga Club Cup this summer.
The official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association, the nation's elite tennis stars used La Manga Club to fine-tune their preparations before going on to record a memorable win over America – the first time they have beaten them since 1935.
And Britain's most talented young players can follow in their footsteps and take advantage of the Spanish resort's extensive academy themselves by taking part in the popular LTA Grade Three event, which provides the ideal stepping stone to future success.
Providing a unique training week for players to spend with their coaches ahead of the summer tournament circuit, the event has more than doubled in size since being launched in 2012, attracting an entry of around 130 players last year, and numbers are expected to increase even further in 2014.
Taking place from June 29 to July 4, categories include singles competitions for boys and girls from the ages of 10 to 18, doubles competitions for U14s and men's and ladies' singles and doubles events.
There will also be a pre-tournament training camp from June 27-29 for competitors to hone their skills in their bid to secure crucial LTA ranking points and win some fantastic luxury prizes.
Entry into the U18s singles events cost €20 per person and €25 per person for the adult singles, while the fee to enter the doubles competitions is just €10 per person for all ages and accommodation discounts of up to 15 per cent available to all participants staying in the resort.
Tournament entries must be booked through the LTA and more information can be found at www.lta.org.uk .
Featuring a tennis academy including 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four on artificial grass, La Manga Club boasts some of the best facilities in Europe and British stars including Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, Laura Robson and Tim Henman have all used the resort to train over the last decade. It has also been used to stage Davis Cup and Fed Cup matches.
In addition, the venue offers unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure resort including three 18-hole championship golf courses and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
