Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is enhancing the guest experience with a newly promoted feature designed for year-round enjoyment: the hotel’s swimming pool is both heated during cooler periods and equipped with cooling functionality for Cairns’ warmer tropical months.
Positioned in the heart of Cairns overlooking the marina, the pool now offers guests a consistently comfortable swimming experience regardless of season or weather conditions. The advanced temperature control capability allows the hotel to maintain the water at a constant 27°C, warming it during winter and cool it during peak summer heat, ensuring optimal comfort throughout the year.
“Our guests come to Cairns to immerse themselves in the tropical lifestyle and comfort is central to that experience in every season,” said Golden Whitehead, General Manager of Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns. “With both heating and cooling capabilities, our pool ensures the perfect swimming environment whether guests are seeking a refreshing summer escape or a relaxing winter swim.”
The enhancement reflects Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns’ continued focus on delivering elevated guest experiences and resort-style amenities in the heart of the city. The pool remains a key feature for visitors enjoying leisure stays, pre- and post-reef adventures or relaxing marina-side moments.
Located in a prime waterfront position, the hotel continues to offer convenient access to Cairns’ dining precinct, tours to the Great Barrier Reef and the vibrant Esplanade area, making it a preferred destination for both domestic and international travellers.
