National Tea Day, a celebration of Britain's favourite brew, lands this year on a Friday (21 April). So, why not combine the great British classic, with something a little more weekend-appropriate?
The Milestone Hotel, minutes away from Kensington Palace, is the perfect place to enjoy a cuppa with a difference after a stroll through the Palace grounds. Sit back in their beautiful Stables Bar, overflowing with heritage inspired décor and sip on a 'Mrs T'ea'. The cocktail is served in a delicate china cup and mixes vodka, elderflower liqueur and orange essential oils with an Earl Grey Tea reduction for the fragrant tea's signature flavour.
'Mrs T'ea' is available throughout the year from The Stables Bar at The Milestone. For more information about The Milestone and Stables Bar, visit their website (milestonehotel.com)
For the traditionalist…
In an effort to appreciate and understand the origins of the nation's favourite brew, The Milestone sent its Food & Beverage Manager to the source: Sri Lanka. There he explored PMD Teas' heritage and practise and has returned to London to share the knowledge with guests and visitors to the hotel. The Milestone's brand new Tea Academy invites guests to taste six single estate teas, paired with items from their Traditional Afternoon Tea menu like bite-size scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, a taster selection of sandwiches and mini French Pastries. Tea aficionados will leave with a heightened understanding of the process which provides us with the humble teabag, as well as a small take-home gift in the spirit of the occasion!
Prices start from £65 for two people (45 minutes), for a tutorial conducted by a Tea Ambassador, plus a tasting selection of traditional afternoon tea items. For more information and to enquire visit The Milestone's website here: https://www.milestonehotel.com/food-and-drink/whats-on
