Under the Central America brand and through the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA), the destinations Panama, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and the Dominican Republic will all unite to promote the region. A multi-destination territory that shares enormous cultural wealth, through its' heritage of stately colonial cities, unique natural experiences which represents 12% of the world's biodiversity and growing potential as a venue for world meetings and congresses.

The Central American region is going through an exciting time, as it faces 2020 with numerous projects and challenges. Among them is a Strategic plan for Sustainable Development for the entire SICA region (Central America plus the Dominican Republic) there will be on strong programme and focus on sustainability as a primary objective and positioning. One of the other main objectives of Central America is the consolidation of the multi-destinations many and varied attractions which perfectly combines for visitors to visit several of the complementary destinations, offering tourists a varied selection of multi-cultural and diverse regions across the continent. In this way the 8 countries of the region present themselves, with a more cohesive and diverse offering under one uniformed umbrella.

CATA are currently aiming to achieve a better connectivity and integration in its objectives within the tourism offering for trade and consumers. The infrastructure of the region is extremely high with 47 seaports and 29 airports, which ensures easy connectivity between countries to guarantee the flow of cargo and passengers that visit each of the countries.

The countries of Central America are advancing and developing day by day in a concerted effort to consolidate themselves as an exceptional multi-destination, which now newly includes the participation of the Dominican Republic, which has positioned itself as the gateway from the European continent to the Central American isthmus.
