Isle of Wight, 25 July 2022: Tapnell Farm (01983 758722, https://tapnellfarm.com) has launched three luxurious new rural retreats, with bookings still available for the school summer holidays.
The dog-friendly self-catering cottages – The Lookout, sleeping four, Poacher's Lodge, sleeping eight, and Stockbridge, sleeping 12 – offer supremely comfortable choices for different mixes of family and friends. They are all set amid the beautiful pastures of West Wight, close to the seashore.
Spectacular sunsets are (almost) guaranteed at The Lookout, an upside-down house with a spacious open-plan living area arranged on the first floor to give guests uninterrupted views across the meadows to Tennyson Down. The cottage also features two en-suite bedrooms and a generous garden with a furnished patio. From £350 per night in July and August and £250 per night in autumn, minimum two-night stays.
There's bags of room for all the family at Poacher's Lodge, which has a large lounge and a kitchen-diner that opens onto a furnished patio and a huge garden with room to romp. It also has a cosy snug with log burner, four bedrooms, one en-suite, and a family bathroom. From £450 per night in July and August and £350 per night in autumn, minimum two-night stay.
Family, friends or a mix of both is possible at Stockbridge, with its open-plan area for cooking, dining and relaxing, furnished patio and large garden. The house has six bedrooms and five bathrooms, including one on the ground floor with full wheelchair access and wet room. The house, which is set on the edge of Tapnell Farm, is available for the summer season only, starting from £1,272 for two nights.
The launch of the cottages follows the recent opening of Tapnell Farm Group's fun, new, upcycled animal arcs The Piglets and a repurposed container The Snug at neighbouring East Afton Farm. Tapnell Farm's other luxury accommodation includes Eco Pods, Modulogs, Safari Tents, Wood Cabins, Geodesic Domes, and two further houses, Dairyman's Cottage and Tapnell Manor.
These latest developments mark Tapnell Farm's 10th anniversary. The farm pioneered glamping before the word made it into the dictionary and during the past decade it has become the Isle of Wight's leading eco-friendly attraction, which is built on ethical social and environmental principles.
Guests staying in the accommodation can also make the most of all the great facilities on their doorstep, which include the Farm Park, the island's only Football Golf and Aqua Park courses, archery, axe-throwing and clay-pigeon shooting, the award-winning restaurant and bar The Cow, and the Farm Shop, which is stocked with delicious local produce.
The Farm is also a gateway to one of the loveliest areas of the island. Walkers can stride out on the circular six-mile walk, the Tapnell Trail, and there are bikes to hire for cyclists. Nearby places to visit include world-famous landmark The Needles, the beach at Freshwater Bay, and top birdwatching at the Newtown National Nature Reserve. Just around the corner is Farringford House, former home of the Victorian poet laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and Dimbola Museum and Galleries, which is dedicated to the life and work of the Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. It also has a permanent exhibition about Jimi Hendrix and the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, which took place in the fields at Tapnell Farm.

NOTES TO EDITORS
Tapnell Farm was once one of the biggest dairy farms on the Isle of Wight, run by the Turney family for almost 40 years. Since 2012, it has been transformed by Tom Turney and his brother-in-law Tom Honeyman Brown into the island's leading eco-tourism business. Tapnell Farm is now home to the award-winning Tom's Eco Lodge and Farm accommodation, Tapnell Farm Park, Isle of Wight Aqua Park, Isle of Wight Football Golf and The Cow Restaurant & Bar. As well as providing pioneering glamping staycations and fun days out, Tapnell Farm aims to have minimum impact on the environment through its on- and off-site initiatives.
