GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 23, 2014 /CNW/ -- Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. (NYSE: SKT) and RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: REI.UN) announced today that Tanger Outlets Ottawa will celebrate a Glamorous Grand Opening on Friday, October 17 at 10:00 am.

Tanger Outlets' first ground-up construction in Canada will offer shoppers in Ottawa a fashionable new destination for savings on the season's hottest trends and gifts, direct from popular brand name and designer retailers. Be the first to shop the more than 75 designer outlets at the centre!

The exciting line up of outlet stores featured at the center will include: Nike Factory Store, Calvin Klein Outlet, GAP Outlet, Banana Republic Factory Store, Coach Outlet, DKNY Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger Outlet, Aeropostale, Guess Factory Store, Nine West Outlet, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, American Eagle Outfitters Factory Outlet, Under Armour Factory Outlet, Fossil Outlet, J. Crew Factory and many more.

The 293,000 square foot centre is located off the TransCanada Highway ( Highway 417) at Palladium Drive. The site is located in the suburban area of Kanata and will benefit from its access to the greater Ottawa market. The concept, design and merchandising of the Ottawa centre is similar to those within the successful, established Tanger portfolio of outlet centres in the United States.

The completed centre represents an estimated $120 million dollar investment in Ottawa as well as the creation of more than 1,000 full and part-time retail management and sales positons.
