It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Chris Heywood as our Sr. Vice President of Global Communications at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.  Mr. Heywood worked successfully on the global communications team for the last 15 years at peer organization, NYC & Company, and led the department over the last eight years as EVP of Global Communications.  Prior to his tenure at NYC & Company, Chris worked in the public affairs department at Los Angeles Tourism for eight years.

“This is a homecoming of sorts for Chris.  So many of our staff loved partnering with him when he was previously part of the Los Angeles Tourism team.  I am thrilled that we can leverage Chris's seasoned experience as well as the deep relationships that he's built with media and journalists over his nearly 25 years as a communications professional,” stated Don Skeoch, Chief Marketing Officer at the LA Tourism Board, “Chris's experience and value extends globally.”

Mr. Heywood added, “I am so excited to rejoin Los Angeles Tourism at such a pivotal time for the city of Los Angeles as the tourism industry quickly emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.  LA is one of the most visited cities in the world, and I look forward to leading a team to promote and publicize the diverse attractions, cultures, and geographies in the city to a worldwide audience.  It's also a great privilege to work alongside a talented and creative team at an organization that I truly admire.”

Mr. Heywood will officially begin on November 2nd, 2022.  His husband, Nick, and their young son are looking forward to relocating to sunny Los Angeles this winter.
