Visitor numbers to Singapore look set to increase as the country recently legalised gambling and announced plans to open two casinos by 2009.

Holidaymakers that don�t want to wait that long can head off to a number of exotic destinations around the globe to hit the roulette tables. Travel consultants at Flight Centre recommend the following places for those wanting to place a bet on their next holiday:

LAS VEGAS, USA The gambling capital of the world Las Vegas made its name from its glittering casino lights in an otherwise barren desert landscape. Since the state of Nevada legalised gambling in 1931 it has become a mecca of pure entertainment with hundreds of casinos and the opportunity to gamble 24 hours a day, enough to satisfy even the hardened gambler.

Flight Centre is offering a three-night package to Las Vegas from �549 per person for travel from 1 � 27 June. The price includes accommodation at the 3* Imperial Palace hotel in the heart of the Las Vegas strip and return flights from Gatwick with Delta.

ATLANTIC CITY, USA The USA�s second most famous gambling city is a slightly jaded version of its once grand former self when it was a playground for the rich and famous. It is still worth a visit though to walk on the world�s first boardwalk and sample some of the best nightlife on America�s east coast, including its many casinos and gaming outlets.

MACAU, CHINA Macau is a pretty colonial town with a European feel because of its Portuguese heritage. It is only an hour�s jetfoil ride from Hong Kong and since the peninsula was given back to China in 1999 it is the only place in the country that people can gamble. It is therefore a popular excursion from Hong Kong for those that fancy a flutter.
