The Taiwan Tourism Bureau has produced a series of short promotional videos as part of an ongoing effort to promote the island's rich diversity of experiences, wildlife and cuisine to international tourists.
Centred on six different themes; including food, culture, shopping, nature, romance and lifestyle, the videos have been produced using a quasi-documentary format to present the actual experiences of foreign travellers exploring Taiwan.
Each film shows travellers discovering what is 'zan'(Chinese for 'great' or ´bravo´) about the destination, whether it be from tasting tea boiled eggs in local markets to uncovering hidden temples in the city, taking part in traditional festivals or hiking to Taiwan's highest peak.
The films were created by prominent Hong Kong director Johnny Au, who was keen to present the promotional clips 'through the eyes of tourists,' capturing intimate moments from around the island.
The videos are available to view on Youtube and can also be downloaded by tourists by scanning a QR code on EasyCards used on Taipei's MRT and bus systems.
To encourage visitors to discover Taiwan themselves, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau is also offering vouchers for one free entry to one of 18 amusement parks across the country. To claim your free voucher, please email Taiwan@brightergroup.com stating the date of travel and the name of the travellers. There is a maximum of one voucher per person and vouchers are not valid for travellers holding a R.O.C. passport. Voucher valid until 31 January 2015.
