Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show is the UK's leading consumer travel event. The show attracts over 60,000 travel connoisseurs craving inspiration, information and exclusive deals and also acts as a hub of consumer travel in formation for key journalists.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau will be exhibiting at stand AP54 at the Manchester show and at stand AP65 at the London show, the delegation will be on hand to answer questions about the destination and to explain why more Brits than ever visited Taiwan in 2016, and why everyone should visit in 2017.

This year Taiwan was chosen as one of the 'Top Countries to Visit This Year' in The Rough Guide to 2017, following on from Lonely Planet's selection of Taitung in Taiwan to feature on its inaugural 'Best in Asia' list at the end of 2016. The colourful Lantern Festival, sponsored by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, was also recommended by the Discovery Channel in 2007 as one of the best holiday celebration events. This extraordinary event takes place during the first lunar month (Saturday, February 11th 2017) and sees firecrackers and colourful fireworks set off and hand-held lanterns lit in a celebratory show.

Taiwan's heady mix of high-tech design, diverse cuisine, ancient sights and untouched countryside is starting to get the international recognition that has long been deserved. Visit before visitor numbers skyrocket to find some of the world's best night markets, most beautiful temples, best birdwatching and plenty of blissful sub-tropical shores.
