Swinging Bridge takes Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia to 30 members by 30 June
Esteemed family-owned winery Swinging Bridge in New South Wales' Orange region has joined the Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia (UWEA), taking the prestigious collective to 30 members.
Swinging Bridge is located a four-hour drive from Sydney in the picturesque region of Orange. It's the second winery in the area to join the collective, with Printhie Wines just a short drive down the road.
The winery specialises in the production of premium cool climate wines, with a focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for which the Orange region is best known. Swinging Bridge also produces Riesling, Shiraz and traditional method sparkling wine.
Boasting a a commanding view of Mount Canobolas (Ghanabulla) – an iconic landmark of the Orange region at 1395 metres tall – the cellar door offers several wine experiences, with more in development. Currently, guests can choose to 'Savour with Swinging Bridge' which includes a seated tasting of seven cool-climate wines elegantly paired with a selection of chef-designed canapés.
Those looking for a more in-depth experience can 'Indulge with Swinging Bridge', which kicks off with a vineyard tour where guests will learn the story behind the winery and its hands-on, sustainable approach to viticulture and winemaking. They'll then be treated to a tasting of premium range wines including exclusive museum releases, expertly matched to a four-course degustation style lunch menu.
Swinging Bridge hosts a number of events throughout the year, ranging from intimate long lunches and dinners to masterclasses, educational experiences, and gatherings with canapés and live music.
Kate Shilling, Executive Officer Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia, welcomed Swinging Bridge to the collective. “Swinging Bridge is a highly regarded, experience-led winery, and we're delighted to have them board as our 30th UWEA member and the second in the Orange region,” said Shilling.
“With Printhie Wines just 10 minutes' drive from Swinging Bridge, we can now offer a fantastic multifaceted day of wine experiences in the beautiful region of Orange,” she said.
Swinging Bridge Owner and Winemaker Tom Ward said that Swinging Bridge had always strived to create outstanding, authentic, and unique wine experiences that resonate with guests, and that joining the prestigious ranks of UWEA amplifies this commitment.
“The opportunity to be part of such a distinguished collection of exceptional wineries is a privilege; it allows us to connect with discerning wine enthusiasts and experience seekers from around the world. We can't wait to collaborate, learn, and share our passion with fellow UWEA members, as we continue to elevate the art of winemaking and hospitality,” said Ward.
Swinging Bridge is the fifth winery in New South Wales to join UWEA, alongside Tyrrell's, Brokenwood and Audrey Wilkinson in the Hunter Valley, and Printhie Wines in Orange. The cellar door is open seven days, and is located at 701 The Escort Way, Orange, New South Wales.
