Swim with Wild Dolphins concept initially commenced in 1989, with Terry Howson dedicating significant time and research into wild dolphins. He established in-water encounters with the dolphins whilst ensuring the mammals remain in their natural environment, with no human interference to their eating habits prior to launching this as a unique tourism experience, which has since been acknowledged with several State and National ecotourism award wins.
In 2005 the Rockingham Wild Encounters Ecotourism Group was formed by Terry Howson and Aaron Heath, to then include Penguin and Seal Island cruises to the existing Swim with Wild Dolphins tours.
2013 marks a significant year where the company has undergone a major re-brand and unveiled a new logo to the market place. “The amazing experience we are offering visitors remains at the same high standards it has since we commenced and the new logo reflects the fresh approach we maintain within the business.” stated Mr Howson.
Based on the shores of the spectacular Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, 45 minutes south of Perth, Rockingham Wild Encounters operates Swim with Wild Dolphins and Penguin and Seal Island cruises offering a range of cruises to get up close and personal with the local wild dolphins, sea lions and penguins. Cruises start from $14 per person.
