SWAROVSKI OPTIK is proud to have awarded the winner of the 10th Wanderlust World Guide Awards with a pair of their exclusive EL 8x32 binoculars. As the Award's main sponsor, SWAROVSKI OPTIK gifted the Gold prize winner Mark Steadman with a pair of binoculars, offering him the chance to experience the high-performance lenses in Asia where he represents Wild Frontiers as a leading tour guide.
The exclusive awards were hosted at the Royal Geographic Society in London on 13 October 2015 and saw Peter Antoniou, Country Manager, UK & Rep of Ireland for SWAROVSKI OPTIK, also present the Silver and Bronze Award winners Orlando Haraseb and Sue Guthrie with a pair of CL Companion 8x30 binoculars to use whilst guiding and on their personal travels.
The Wanderlust World Guide Awards were launched in December 2005 to recognise the unsung heroes of the travel world - the guides and tour leaders. This year, over 1,500 guides from around the world were nominated by their clients for going beyond the call of duty to make their guests' trips a remarkable experience.
On top of the SWAROVSKI OPTIK binoculars, the Gold Award winner also received a £5,000 Paul Morrison bursary. Mark will put this towards Lone Buffalo, a community project in Laos that he co-founded, providing free, quality English tuition to young people living in the world's most heavily- bombed province.
SWAROVSKI OPTIK binoculars and spotting scopes are the finest wildlife-watching companion and are the ultimate accessory for serious adventurers looking to catch sight of some of nature's most wonderful sights up close. Peter Antoniou also joined the likes of author Bill Bryson on the award's judging panel, where the 1,500 entrants were shortlisted.
