SWAROVSKI OPTIK OFFERS PRESTIGIOUS OPTICS AS THE MAIN SPONSOR OF THE INAUGURAL BIRD PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
SWAROVSKI OPTIK, the long range lens specialist, has been named the main sponsor of the inaugural Bird Photographer of the Year Awards, a collaboration between Nature Photographers Ltd and the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO).
The competition is a celebration of avian beauty and diversity, and a tribute to the flexibility and quality of today's digital imaging systems. The awards will see some of the UK's top birding photographers compete in 10 categories including Best Digiscoped Image, Best Portrait and Best Portfolio.
As the main sponsor, SWAROVSKI OPTIK is offering a pair of the highly-acclaimed CL Companion 8x30 binoculars to eight of the lucky winners who will be able to experience the ultimate viewing pleasure. Meanwhile, the winner of the Best Digiscoped Image category will be awarded with a SWAROVSKI OPTIK ATS 65 telescope, complete with a 25mm-50mm zoom eye piece.
TV presenter and conservationist Chris Packham officially launched the competition at Bird Fair 2015 in Norfolk, and with a top prize of £5,000, organisers are encouraging photographers across the UK to submit their latest works to be in with the chance of winning one of the highly prestigious prizes.
SWAROVSKI OPTIK's CL Companion 8x30 binoculars offer users an impressive field of view of 124m and their 8X magnification means even the smallest of details can be seen. Thanks to their mere weight of 500g and compact design, the binoculars are the perfect companion for any wildlife enthusiast. The winner of the ATS 65 telescope will benefit from its lightweight design, which offers high optical quality, despite its compact dimensions. It's perfectly suited to long days outdoors, thanks to its angled view facilitates creating effortless observation opportunities.
Open to professionals and amateur photographers alike and with entry fees starting at £10 (£5 for under 17s), the competition is available to people who wish to submit anything from a single image to an extensive portfolio. All submissions must be received by 9 January 2016.
