Visitors to London this summer can help a team of Invisible Superheroes defeat the dreaded Fatberg in a new, free exhibition 'Water: From Source to Tap' at the Institution of Civil Engineers'.

Children are tasked with helping water engineer superheroes fight the Fatberg Monster and learn what they can do at home to help.

Real figures from the world of engineering have been transformed into cartoon superhero alter-egos, with the mission of fighting the Fatberg Monster, preventing flash flooding and saving lives through providing families across the world with clean water and sanitation.

Visitors will discover how major sewage blockages are caused by the build-up of non-biodegradable waste and learn how they can live in a more sustainable way, including what items they should and shouldn't flush down toilets and drains.

Hands-on activities and interactive content will entertain the future generation of engineers whilst engaging reading and the immersive library environment of the Water: From Source to Tap exhibition, housed in the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers, will inspire visitors of all ages this summer.

Featuring educational displays, videos, interactive content, hands-on activities and stories, the exhibition is designed to appeal to children and young people, as well as anyone who wants to learn more about engineering.

  • The free exhibition is open Monday to Friday, 10am - 5pm, excluding bank holidays, throughout the summer at ICE's award-winning Infrastructure Learning Hub at One Great George Street, Westminster, London, SW1P 3AA.
