UK and Germany named the biggest markets for bookings to Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives, now expanding UK operation
Luxury five-star resort Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives has announced plans to expand its UK base with the appointment of local travel specialists Planet Destinations to oversee local sales operations and trade relations.
Opened in December 2013, the premium Indian Ocean resort welcomed over 47,000 holidaymakers from across the globe in its first twelve months of operation, enticing them with its highly competitive all-inclusive Platinum Plus plan.
The UK proved to be a crucial outbound market for the resort - ranked second only to Germany – with 18.56% of bookings originating here. The vast majority of guests originated from within Europe, accounting for an incredible 78.35% of total bookings.
“Our all-inclusive offering is clearly resonating with the European market and the UK is a crucial element of that result,” says Dinesh Bhaskar, Director of Sales & Marketing for the resort. “We're dedicated to growing this market further and offering an accessible, premium destination for a variety of markets including honeymooners, families, retirees, and young groups of friends - the resort offers something for everyone.”
The property has continued to evolve even in its infancy. The first twelve months of operation saw the opening of the Maldives' first authentic vegetarian restaurant, Just Veg, and the introduction of an on-site water bottling plant that will save half a million plastic bottles per year. The appointment of Planet Destinations will now bolster ongoing UK trade relations.
