Sun Peaks Unveils New Winter Activities in Time for Holiday  Guests

Sun Peaks and local activity operators have added an array of brand new, unique winter activities this season to the already jam-packed activity roster. 

Guests can now enjoy the thrill of a mountainous Off Road Segway experience in the winter! With a new fleet of custom winter chains now outfitted on the already rugged mountain Segways from Alpine Explorers, it's easy to enjoy the incredible terrain Sun Peaks has to offer.

In addition to the winter Segway tours, Sun Peaks is excited to announce the release of one of the hottest emerging activities in the winter sports market, Fat Biking. Slightly different in design from traditional mountain bikes, Fat Bikes rely on significantly wider or "fatter" tires and rims to navigate through snowy terrain with ease and traction.

Also new is the introduction of the Nordic Terrain Park. Located near parking lot five, the Nordic Terrain Park includes rollers and other features designed for skill development. Already a massive hit with kids, this new terrain park will become a valuable tool for cross-country skiers of all ages an ability levels to hone their craft before setting out on more than 34km of groomed and track-set trails offered by the Sun Peaks Nordic trail network.

Tourism Sun Peaks President, Christopher Nicolson, explains how these new winter activities have been added in a direct response to market demand, "Increasingly, guests are looking for a diversified ski vacation to entertain not only the skiers and snowboards, but also the non-skiing members of a group. At peak holiday periods, up to 10% of our overnight guests may be non-skiers. These new activities answer that demand."

This new line-up of winter activities augment the existing roster that includes popular activities such as Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides, Dog Sled Tours, Cat Trax Groomer Rides, Snowmobile Tours, Ice Skating, Tube Park, and more.
