Sun Peaks, BC (April 6, 2016) - Sun Peaks Resort is thrilled to announce an official partnership with Kamloops-based professional mountain bike athlete Dylan Sherrard. Dylan's relationship with the resort has been evolving for years with steadily increased involvement in the Bike Park and specifically multi-day freeride camps, culminating in the launch of the Shred Hard Summer Camp series for summer 2016.
“I've been riding the Sun Peaks Bike Park every summer since 2007, and coaching mountain bike camps there since 2009. There's nowhere else I'd rather be in the summer, so this official partnership feels like a really natural move for me!” says Sherrard.
“Dylan is a long time rider and ambassador of the Sun Peaks Bike Park and has been helping us in various capacities for many years,” says Aidan Kelly, Director of Sales & Marketing with Sun Peaks Resort LLP. “An official partnership was simply the next step forward together in growing the park.”
The Shred Hard Summer Camps schedule is diverse to suit any schedule. The lineup includes the Shred Hard Sick Weekend Camp on July 9-10, Shred Hard Summer Camp - a five day program from July 11-15, and Shred Hard Sunday School for younger shredders running four weeks straight starting on July 17.
“I like to custom tailor the program for each camp. The ultimate goal is always to build confidence and make everyone smile so that I can send riders home with a new bag of tools and a fresh perspective about how to constantly, and safely, push their riding each time they hit the trails.” says Sherrard. Sun Peaks' partnership with Dylan will also include exciting community events like the Sun Peaks Pedal Fest and Grass Dual Slalom World Championships on Labour Day Weekend, September 3-5.
The Sun Peaks Bike Park opens on Friday, June 24, offering lift access to an enormous trail network spanning all ability levels and the entire spectrum of riding styles from cross country to downhill. New this summer are extended lift operating hours, an extra two hours means you can lap the park into cooler evening temperatures until 7:00 pm!
