Summer Nights Celebration' Lets Aquarium Visitors Enjoy Exhibits, Special Programs Each Saturday in July

9 p.m. closing, live music, feeding sessions planned in July of anniversary year Enjoy the magic of summer twilight each Saturday in July at the Monterey Bay Aquarium during a �Summer Nights Celebration.� To help mark its 20th anniversary year, the aquarium will stay open until 9 p.m. on July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 while visitors enjoy live jazz, special auditorium programs, special feeding sessions at the Sea Otter and Kelp Forest exhibits, and extended hours at the Portola Cafe and the aquarium�s gift and bookstores.

The aquarium usually closes to the public at 6 p.m., weekends included. But aquarium staff wanted to make the summer of 2004 a bit more special for visitors in recognition of its 20th anniversary. The aquarium first opened on October 20, 1984.

�Summer Nights Celebration� activities include: � A feeding and training session at the Sea Otter Exhibit at 7 p.m. (except July 3). � A Kelp Forest dive show at 8 p.m. � Live jazz in the Marine Mammal Hall from 5 to 9 p.m. by the Melange Duo (July 3); the Alan Berman Duo (July 10); The Gil Cadilli Duo (July 17); the Kenny Stahl Duo (July 24) and the Roger Eddy Duo (July 31). � Special feature programs in the auditorium. � Extended hours at the Portola Cafe and the aquarium�s gift and bookstores (meals and store purchases are not included with admission).
