To celebrate the Queens Official Birthday, 11th June, the beautiful belle poque style Five-star Renaissance Chancery Court in Holborn is holding a Summer Flower Festival. This quintessentially British occasion will be marked by stunning floral displays, vintage champagne, delicious afternoon tea and expert advice on holding the perfect event, be it a wedding or al fresco dinner party - combining to create a summer afternoon of escape and indulgence with practical hints and tips!
Floristry is an art long associated with traditional England. Chancery Court has gathered some of Londons finest florists to be present on 11th June in the hotels central cobbled courtyard, prepared to whet your appetite with the latest in floristry and stunningly different displays. Phillo design for the likes of Matthew Williamson and Elle McPherson with clean contemporary yet tropical displays, while Michael Pooley can list clients from Bella Freud to Alexander McQueen and predicts floral designs this summer will evoke Ibiza 88, Brazil and carnivals with bright colour and bold designs. Paul Thomas has been one of London's top designers for 17 years with commissions for Her Majesty the Queen on a number of high profile events including the 100th birthday party of HM The Queen Mother and the recent marriage of HRH The Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles. An expert wedding planner, banqueting manager and toast master will also be on hand to answer questions and ensure any event you are intending runs smoothly.
Elegant afternoon tea will include delicious cucumber sandwiches, fresh strawberries and a selection of home baked scones and pastries with a glass of champagne and variety of specialist teas. It will be served in the courtyard itself or the relaxing surroundings of the Lounge, with pianist and doors open onto the timeless cobbled courtyard filled with flowers the spot where Faye Dunaway and Oliver Reed starred in the classic film The Three Musketeers.
Tickets to the event cost 26.95 and include full afternoon tea, a glass of champagne, goody bag with gift from each florist. Experts on hand will include Paul Furness of Paul Thomas, Vafa Mansoubi and Cemal Cemal of Phillo, Michael Pooley, Karina von Buettner Ravache, Wedding Planner and Banqueting Expert and Denver Jeffrey one of Londons most experienced toast masters.
