Hilton Auckland Bow Suite 19 Dec 2006
Stunning New Suites For Hilton Auckland - Iconic Designs Overlooking Waitemata Harbour

Hilton

The Hilton Auckland, an iconic property located on the wharf at Waitemata Harbour, now has even more to offer to the discerning traveller. Its popular Bow Suites, inspired by luxury liner cabins, have just received a complete refurbishment. In addition, a greater selection of new suite types are also available, offering the option of a one or two-bedroom Presidential Suite, plus a one-bedroom Relaxation Suite all located on the top level of the hotel.

The suites interior, designed by Catherine Stormont of HBO+EMTB, is contemporary in feel, blending in with the overall design of the hotel and taking full advantage of the unique location of being over water.

Each suite gives the sense of the cabin luxury of an international cruise liner, with absolute water outlooks and viewing decks. Inside furnishings and fabrics are in muted tones, fitted out with Italian leather furniture and feature pieces in lavish colours, espresso coffee machines and state of the art entertainment units with 32 LCD screen TVs.

A unique feature of the refurbishment is the inclusion of pieces of original New Zealand art in each suite. Ensuring that the spaces retained a touch of authenticity and sense of place, a selection of paintings were sourced from local artists Simon Kaan, Graham Fletcher, Heather Straka and Kristy Gorman. They give each space a distinctly New Zealand flavour when you walk into the rooms, which we hope our guests will appreciate and enjoy, says John Ingram.

The refurbishment has come at a cost of NZ$800,000 to the Hilton Auckland. General Manager John Ingram believes, They are arguably the best hotel suites in town and really do showcase the lifestyle of Auckland. We are thrilled with the results and look forward to hosting our regular array of international visitors and celebrities to the hotel. A stay in one of the suites will certainly be a memorable occasion.

Since the Hilton Auckland opened in July 2001, the Bow Suites have been a popular option for those guests who wanted to experience the full impact of being located over water. These special suites are located on the northern end of the hotel with stunning 180 degree views across the Waitemata Harbour from the Auckland Harbour Bridge to the west, Takapuna to the north and Devonport to the east. Now fully refurbished, the floor to ceiling windows encase two-thirds of the room and a walkout balcony runs the full length of the suite taking advantage of this over-the-water location.

On the 7th floor of the north east corner of the hotel, the new Relaxation Suite enjoys 160 degree uninterrupted water views across the stunning Waitemata Harbour. The comfortable suite offers three separate living zones for working, sleeping and relaxing, as well as your own private balcony.

The Presidential Suite is the absolute highlight. Available in a one or two- bedroom configuration, the luxurious modern Italian design furniture and a polished wooden floor, perfectly emulate the designers brief of feeling like staying on a luxury yacht. An expansive bedroom leads into a huge bathroom equipped with power shower and an island bath. The Presidential Suite is that something extra special to impress the discerning traveler.

The two-bedroom suite offers unsurpassed luxury and space at 135 square metres with the best absolute 250 degree waterfront views across Waitemata Harbour. It is undoubtedly the best vantage point to enjoy Auckland, the City of Sails.

Rates per night for the new suites are available on a demand prices basis: Bow Suite - from NZ$900 to $1100 or US$619 to $756 1 Bedroom Relaxation Suite - from NZ$1295 to $1470 or US$890 to $1011 1 Bedroom Presidential Suite - from NZ$1855 to $2050 or US$1275 to $1409 2 Bedroom Presidential Suite - from NZ$3150 - $3520 or US$2166 to $2420
