Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel's General Manager receives the industry's highest accolade
Stuart Bowery, General Manager of Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel is the 2013 “Hotelier of the Year”.
Officially announced at 2pm on Wednesday 13 November, Caterer and Hotelkeeper’s Hotelier of the Year Award, sponsored by Casna Group, is one of the most prestigious in the hospitality industry.
Considered to be the highest of accolades for Hoteliers, the Cateys Hotelier of the Year Award, in its 31st year, celebrates the UK’s most exceptional hotelkeepers. The awards are an independent benchmark of operational excellence with Stuart joining an eminent list of honorees.
Stuart says, “I feel immensely proud to receive such a wonderful accolade and am flattered to be in such distinguished company.”
The award is given to an individual who displays the management, leadership and communications skills required to manage a hotel at the highest levels of excellence, along with a commitment to employees and the industry at large.

Stuart is an exemplary Hotelier who drives Grosvenor House to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Multi-talented, taking on tasks with enthusiasm whilst inspiring all around him, he boasts over 30 years of experience in hotel operations, including numerous General Manager positions throughout London and the UK.
Stuart was responsible for seven London Marriott hotels as Cluster General Manager before his appointment as General Manager of Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel on 3rd May 2011.
As a Master Innholder and Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, Stuart maintains a high profile in the hospitality industry. Stuart says, “During my tenure as Hotelier of the Year, I am more motivated than ever to promote our industry as a thriving place to develop a career in hotels.”
Stuart Bowery was officially unveiled as Hotelier of the Year at a Caterer & Hotelkeeper luncheon on Wednesday 13 November, with judges and all previous Hoteliers of the Year honorees in attendance.
