Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) performed strongly at the Queensland Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) Awards, winning three of the major award categories.
The MEA Awards recognise excellence, best practice and professionalism in the meetings industry and these prestigious awards showcase Queensland's strong standing in the high yield business events sector.
Continuing its award winning tradition, BCEC was awarded 'Banqueting & Catering', 'In-house AV Services' and Corporate Social Responsibility (for more than 30 employees) all fundamental pillars for success in the ultra-competitive meetings and events industry.
BCEC General Manager, Bob O'Keeffe said these three awards reflect the Centre's absolute commitment to professional excellence and the very highest standards of personal service as well as the very important issue of caring for the environment and the community.
"Congratulations must go to our dedicated team who are at the forefront of our award winning event delivery and to our many staff who volunteer as part of the Centre's social responsibility program.
"Winning the CSR Award is very timely as the Centre is currently partnering with the world wide AEG 1EARTH program which is four weeks of heightened activity surrounding the environment and the local community.
"We will continue to invest and innovate to provide a world class product contributing to Brisbane's international reputation as a 'first choice' destination for business events."
The Centre will represent Queensland in its three winning state categories at the MEA National Awards in Darwin in May.
