With recent lockdowns and COVID-19 restrictions making staycations the most attractive travel option of the moment, families will find plenty of ideas for things to do in the winter issue of Out & About with Kids. Featuring a photo of Curiocity Brisbane 2021 on the cover, the quarterly family travel magazine includes a story about the best things to do in Australia's capital cities with kids, from climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge to a day out at Perth Zoo.
The issue also features the latest news and deals from some of Australia's most family-friendly hotels, resorts and holiday parks, including BIG4 Easts Beach Holiday Park Kiama, North Star Holiday Resort and Tweed Holiday Parks Pottsville South in the Tweed, Paradise Resort Gold Coast, BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, Fitzroy Island Resort and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
New dad writer Ben Groundwater makes his debut this issue with a story about his first road trip as a family of four through Victoria's High Country, while LA-based Aussie chef Curtis Stone reveals his favourite family travel experiences and tips. Meg Law and her family discover tourism is getting back on its feet on Kangaroo Island in South Australia following the devastating 2019/20 bushfires, and Out & About with Kids editor Angela Saurine talks to the experts to find out how finding a patch of bush and setting your children free to play in the dirt, scramble over rocks and climb trees can benefit children.
Other domestic destinations covered include Tamworth, Queensland's Granite Belt, Cairns, Pacific Palms and Australia's Coral Coast Highway. And while Queenstown gets all the glory on New Zealand's South Island, readers can also discover the many family-friendly activities on offer in Dunedin in this issue.
Out & About with Kids aims to inspire families to spend quality time together on holidays and create memories that will last a lifetime. The magazine is distributed to both consumers and travel agents, with a temporarily reduced circulation during the pandemic of 8,000 printed copies, with 1.8 million digital magazines distributed via parenting website Stay at Home Mum and Baby to Toddler Shows. The magazine also has a growing social media following, with more than 30,000 followers and nearly 20,000 newsletter subscribers.
