Starwood Hotels & Resorts Expands Footprint in Australia With the Signing of the Westin Brisbane

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – November 18, 2015 – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced it has signed an agreement with Mary 111 Pty Ltd, to debut the Westin brand in Brisbane in the state of Queensland, Australia. The Westin Brisbane is slated to open in 2018 as part of mixed-use development called “Mary Lane,” which will offer an array of renowned retail outlets, vibrant restaurants and stylish residences, in the heart of the central business district.

Ideally situated for business and leisure travellers, The Westin Brisbane is will feature 286 guest rooms with sweeping views of the river and city skyline. Guests will enjoy signature Westin services and amenities, such as the world-renowned Heavenly® Bed and invigorating Heavenly® Bath experience. The hotel will also offer extensive leisure facilities, including the WestinWORKOUT® fitness studio, a resort style swimming pool with swim up pool bar and the Heavenly® Spa.

An ideal setting for functions, the hotel boasts more than 7,180 square feet of meeting and event space, as well as a 24-hour business center. A full calendar of complimentary events and activities will be available through the Westin Family program.

The Westin Brisbane joins Starwood's robust portfolio in the Pacific – 18 hotels in operation, including Four Points Sydney, Darling Harbour, which is in the final stages of an extensive redevelopment, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort, which is being refurbished, and Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort and Spa, which has just celebrated its first anniversary. The hotel also joins seven properties under development including: W Brisbane, Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows, Four Points Melbourne Docklands, Aloft Sydney Pitt Street, The Westin Perth, Aloft Adelaide and Aloft Perth Rivervale.
