"We at Star Clippers are grateful for his loyalty and dedication".
The president of Star Clippers, Mr Mikael Krafft, has expressed his gratitude for the loyal services of the company’s longtime Australasian public relations consultant Mr. Glyn May who retires from the position in February.
Mr May will continue with freelance travel writing and other public relations activities.
A veteran journalist, Mr May launched Star Clippers’ media and public relations activities in Australia and New Zealand in 1999 taking the company from virtual press obscurity to a household name throughout the media and travel industry.
He sailed on all three ships of the Star Clippers fleet, Royal Clipper, Star Clipper and Star Flyer in many parts of the world, as did scores of Australian guest travel writers over nearly 15 years.
“In this era of mega cruise ships, Mr May’s splendid work both as a journalist and in the field of public relations has influenced many hundreds of Australians to embrace the alternative cruise experience of sailing in luxury on a true clipper ship”, Mr. Krafft said.
