Call for participation in the 30th "Pica d'Estats" International Tourism

Prize for Press, Radio, TV and Internet Journalism", 2018 edition.
1. - Beneficiaries.

The prize is for authors who have published, diffused or broadcast works via different mass media with the main aim of highlighting opportunities for tourism in the comarques (local districts) of Lleida. The same author will be able to compete in more than one prize category.

2. - Objective.
The Prize is open to authors of journalistic content published in, or broadcast by, any type of mass media (written press, radio, television, Internet, etc.) and in any language, within the period between 19th October 2017 and 18th October 2018, with the main
priority of spreading tourism-related information about the local districts of Lleida. Except in the case of photography, the authors of transmedia work will only be able to compete in one prize category. A given author, or authors, will only be able to present a maximum of three works per
category, with priority being given to what they consider to most faithfully reflect the language of the media in question. The exception is photography, in which they will be able to compete in two different categories.

3. - Rules of the competition.

4. - Award procedure
These prizes are subject to procedures governing the organisation of competitions.

5.- Amount.

The total prize money for the competition is € 45,000. This sum will be paid from the corresponding part of the 2019 budget of the Patronat Intercomarcal de Turisme "Terres de Lleida" of the Diputació de Lleida. The awarding of the prizes is conditioned by there being sufficient funds available at the moment of deciding the winning entries.

6. - Period in which to present entries.

The presentation and registration of works must be carried out within the period
between 19th October and 19th November 2018, inclusively.

7. - Other information.

a) Prize categories and prize money.
Prizes will be awarded in 8 different categories:
- Written Press
- Radio
- Television
- Press specialising in travel and tourism
- Photographic report
- International press award, for the best report published or broadcast in a foreign
country.
- Local media prize, which is open to all of the media from the Lands of Lleida.

- Internet: news portals, multimedia reports or any other digital formats which deal
with tourism in Lleida, published either on the Internet or via social media networks.

The prize money for the 8 competition categories will be distributed as follows:
- 1 special prize of € 10,000 for the best work in all of the 8 competition categories.
- 7 prizes of € 5,000 for the winners in each of the remaining categories.

b) Where and how to present entries.

The inscriptions and works must be presented by the authors, or by any other person
or entity which can accredit their consent, and sent to:

The works that are candidates for prizes must be presented in compliance with the
following formal requirements:

Written press: an original copy of the publication in which the article appeared or a
copy of it in PDF format.

- Radio and television: a recording of the information or reports presented. In the case
of news programmes, a selection of three connected programmes must be presented,
just as they were broadcast.
- Internet: a presentation of the work just as it was published on the website, whether
on a multimedia CD/DVD, as an HTML, Flash, JPEG or GIF file, or printed on paper

c) Instructions for the official record

The organisation and completion of the official record shall be undertaken by the
Patronat de Turisme "Terres de Lleida" of the Diputació de Lleida. The different applications presented shall be assessed by the competition jury, which
will formulate a proposal that shall subsequently be approved by the President of the Patronat Intercomarcal de Turisme "Terres de Lleida".

d) Competition jury - The competition jury will be formed by recognised professionals from the world of communications who will be chosen by a resolution passed by the President of the Patronat Intercomarcal de Turisme "Terres de Lleida".

e) Verdict of the Competition:

The competition jury will meet on 2nd February 2019.

The President of the Patronat Intercomarcal de Turisme "Terres de Lleida" will approve the proposal formulated by the prize jury.

The prize will not be awarded if the competition jury considers this to be the most appropriate decision.
