Stanbrook Abbey, an iconic former monastery set in 21 acres of Worcestershire countryside, has extended its range of culinary experience for the August Bank Holiday. Guests can indulge over the long weekend with Pimm's themed afternoon teas and Sunday lunches served with a side of classical music.
Available to book now for experiences throughout the Bank Holiday weekend (24-27 August), these quintessential British traditions have been given a summer twist by head chef Sean Byrne who sources local ingredients from the farms around Worcester and the Vale of Evesham.
Guests can also enjoy a complimentary guided tour of the historic property which includes a chapel and 109ft bell tower and explore the impressive grounds which boasts a lavender garden, private lake and orchard.
Pimm's afternoon tea – Friday 24 August
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea with a selection of fresh loose leaf tea or freshly brewed coffee, finger sandwiches, dainty cakes, homemade fruit scones and, of course, a glass of Pimm's – everyone's favourite summer tipple. Pimm's afternoon tea costs just £25 per person.
Signature afternoon tea experience – Saturday 25 August
The peaceful surroundings of Stanbrook Abbey nestled beneath the picturesque Malvern Hills provide the perfect background for the traditional afternoon tea where guests can indulge in a selection of finger sandwiches, dainty cakes, homemade fruit scones with clotted cream and jam, as well as Stanbrook Abbey's specialty – chocolate fondue with strawberries and homemade marshmallow. A choice of fresh loose leaf tea or coffee is also available. The signature afternoon tea experience costs just £25 per person.
Music Sunday lunch – Sunday 26 August
Enjoy a sumptuous three course meal in the majestic surroundings of the Thompson Dining Hall where exceptional dining service will be paired with classical music accompaniment from pianist Dan Almond. The dining hall boasts hand carved wood panelling and hand painted coats of arms from the previous Abbess. The music Sunday lunch costs just £35 per person.
Sumptuous summertime special – Monday 27th August
Guests to Stanbrook Abbey on Bank Holiday Monday can choose between a signature afternoon tea or opt for the sumptuous summertime special which adds a seasonal twist to the traditional Sunday lunch. Created with the season's freshest produce, the three course meal is paired with a glass of Pimm's. Sumptuous summertime special costs £35 per person
