Like an epic trilogy, Stowe�s Spring Summit Celebration unfolds in many dazzling chapters. It�s three weekends chock-full o� fun and action. Check out the schedule, break out the sunscreen and head for the mountain! (Legal note: please consult with your doctor before attending. The excitement and bliss generated by these events has been tested positively in laboratory animals, but results with humans are not guaranteed.)
March 27:
Halfpipe Jam � From noon to 3pm, the pipe is the place to be! Anyone and everyone can participate in this fun and exciting event. It�s a jam format, meaning this is not a competition. From novices to experts, we invite you all to drop into the pipe and show what you can do while listening to some great music! This event is free of charge and anyone who participates will have their name entered into a drawing to win some stellar prizes (please note that your name can only be entered once).
Live Music Presented by Magic Hat - Check out the Detonators at the Den from 2-6 pm or stop in Midway Lodge from 2-6 pm to see One Eye Open. If you're up top for lunch on Mansfield, stop by the Octagon to see Seth Eames from 12-2pm.
March 28:
Stowe Slopestyle Series III � This series is open to male and female amateur skiers, snowboarders & telemarkers of all ages. Competitors showcase their freestyle talents throughout the terrain park to compete for some amazing prizes.
April 3:
Telemark Half-pipe Championship & Spring Fling � Come out to enjoy the sport you love or would love to try. There will be tons of demo gear, clinics for all abilities, award parties and the first Tele Half-Pipe contest in the East! Everything but rental gear is free with the purchase of the special festival ticket (same price as standard ticket; season pass holders pay extra). Sign-up begins at 8 am in the Midway Base Lodge.
April 3-4:
64th Annual Sugar Slalom - The Sugar Slalom is one of the oldest and most esteemed races in America. Participants race down Nosedive and then enjoy the traditional treat of sugar on snow in the finish area. For more information, please contact the MMSC at (802) 253-7704 or www.mmsc-stowevt.org
April 4:
Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol Bumps Contest � If you think you have skills in the bumps, put your talent to the test by entering the Famous Mt. Mansfield Ski Patrol Bumps Contest! This event is open to skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers of all ages to compete for some great prizes. Registration for this event is $15 and will take place from 9-10:30am in Midway Base Lodge. The event starts at noon and finishes on the deck of Jos��s Cantina at Midway Base Lodge with an awards ceremony and great prizes. If you�re not participating, you should really think about joining us in cheering the competitors on! All proceeds benefit the Vermont Children�s Trust Foundation.
April 10:
Ridestowe Rail Jam � Get ready for a session in the sun! Starting at 10am and ending at noon, come and show us what you�ve got. This event is in true jam format, so there will be no judges and no categories. Participants will get a raffle ticket and be entered into a drawing for some amazing prizes! The raffle will start at noon on the deck of Midway Base Lodge.
Vermont Specialty Food Sampling Days - Come taste the best of Vermont. Sample products from local vendors such as Cold Hollow Cider, Cabot Cheese, and Northeast Kingdom Mustards. We'll be holding this at the Sugarhouse, so come on up and fill your bellies with Vermont Specialty Foods. See you there.
April 11:
50th Annual Sunrise Service � A non-denominational church service at the top of Mount Mansfield that will take your breath away. If you�ve never seen the sun rise from the perspective of Vermont�s highest peak, put it on your �to do� list!
