Perisher Blue is proud to announce that the 2006 Spring Carnival will be held at the resort from Saturday 9th to Sunday 24th of September. The two-week festival is set to be bigger and better than ever with plenty of events to celebrate springtime.
The Spring Carnival includes a huge range of activities and entertainment for the whole family. There will be live music daily, art exhibitions, guided snow-shoe walks, buskers, night skiing, fire works and much more.
General Manager of Marketing and Resort Services Gary Grant is predicting another successful Spring Carnival. �Early indications are that we will have a strong contingent of guests of all ages visiting Perisher Blue to enjoy the week of fun and frivolity,� he said. �There is no doubt that skiers and boarders will be kept busy on and off the slopes.�
A variety of entertainers including local Steve Whitmore will keep everyone entertained. The musical line up includes Rastawookie, DJ Elroy, Shane Wilkie, Sunroom, Heuristis, Josh Owens Band, Labjacd, DJ Matti P, Casual Projects and Jazz & Bliss. Guests will have the opportunity to showcase their own vocal talent at the Karaoke Night and in the Singer Songwriter Comp.
The Spring Carnival will keep children entertained as well. There will be a jumping castle, bungy trampoline, face painting, Dan Druff the Clown, animal mascots and carnival activities.
Perisher Blue hosts a range of ski and snowboard events during spring. The Australian Great Ski Marathon will be held on the 9th of September to raise money for Oxfam Australia. Skiers and snowboarders will have three hours to ride and slide the greatest number of kilometres possible across Perisher Blue�s awesome beginner, intermediate and expert slopes � all for a great cause.
The Boost Mobile King of the Rail will see skiers and snowboarders attempt to break the world record while sliding the longest rail in the world on the 9th and 10th of September.
The Australian Interschools Championships will bring the cream of Australia's future winter athletes to Perisher Blue to compete for National titles in cross country, moguls, snowboard and alpine skiing disciplines from the 7th to 10th of September.
Spring at Perisher Blue also means discounted skiing and snowboarding under blue skies and sunshine. Several discounts are available, including three and five day consecutive lift and lesson passes and the Spring Half-Day option. The Spring Pass is also on sale and is available for use until the end of the season. It includes travel on the Skitube and can be purchased for $599 for adults and $329 for children.
