The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, situated in a prime location in the border town of St Boswells, underwent a major refurbishment last month to modernise and upgrade its facilities. Extensive thought and work was put into the sympathetic renovation of the public areas, restaurants and lounges along with the swimming pool, giving the traditional country hotel a fresh and modern new look. Managing Director, John Wallace commented:
We are delighted with the renovations, which will offer guests modern facilities while retaining period elegance. It is important that The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel meets and exceeds the needs of our guests and the renovation works will provide all the modern comforts within a traditional and stylish environment.
The interior fit of the hotel has been created to generate a warm atmosphere, whilst keeping the rooms spacious and airy, using traditional colours of reds, creams and golds thus creating a contemporary yet classic feel. The use of colour has helped to open areas of the gallery and Wallace Lounge to make the rooms more comfortable and enjoyable while relaxing.
The renovations were completed in time for Easter and the re-launch also saw the introduction of the hotels new Lady of Mertoun Suite. With the impressive under floor heating, window seating in the sitting room and bedroom and the continuation of the warm, elegant colours, Lady of Mertoun Suite provides the perfect romantic hideaway.
With an array of accolades, including Scottish Hotel of the Year Awards Winner of Scottish Fishing Hotel of the Year 2007 and impressive views overlooking River Tweed, The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel is perfect location to unwind and relax.
