Spooky Spiders To Weave A Web Of Weird And Wonderful Fun At Holkham's Halloween

Holkham Estate

The spider population at Holkham will be weaving a web of spooky intrigue for Halloween this year when all sorts of shapes and sizes of spiders will be in residence to provide a spine-chilling experience.

"Holkham Halloween Horrors" will take place every day from October 27 to 31 and there will be plenty to challenge those who are brave enough.

Holkham's Bygones Museum will be encased in a sea of sticky cobwebs with tiny spiders as well as some monstrous creepy crawlies hiding amidst the scary corridors. Mad scientists will be busy creating and mixing their potions, slimes and smells to ensnare the unsuspecting - the museum will not be a place for the faint hearted.

A giant web maze woven on the grass in the Walled Gardens will entice everyone to hunt for more spiders, and if visitors have not had enough of these arachnids, craft activities to make their own eight-legged creature to take home will guarantee a reminder of their terrifying encounters.

A new addition to this popular Halloween extravaganza will be the Halloween theatre production of 'Her Lady's Revenge' on October 30 and 31.  A spine-tingling tale of mystery, mayhem and murder at Holkham Hall will depict a dramatic story of ghosts from the past and brutal experiments in the sanatorium.  This ghoulish production is sure to have the audience quaking in their seats and will not be suitable for under 14s.

Chillingly scary pumpkin carving and some devilishly delicious treats in the Stable Café will all add to the horrors on offer. Visitors are invited to come dressed for the occasion and join in the fancy dress parade - perhaps after having some gory grazes and weeping wounds added to their ensemble by the face painting team.
