Explore Georgia

Home to Forest Gump, park squares, horse-drawn carriages and St Patricks Day parades!

Savannah has been celebrating St Patrick's Day since 1813. It is home to the second largest St Patricks parade in the US, drawing party people from around the world with numerous Irish themed events arranged throughout the day. It is expected that over 400,000 people will visit Savannah for the 185th annual St Patrick's Day Parade

Planned are activities on River Street on the 16th and 17th with entertainment, food, drinks, contests as well as over 70 restaurants and shops in the Savannah Historic District, commencing with a celebration of Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The three-hour parade will step off at 10:15 am.

Savannahs culture is modern while staying true to its Southern traditions. There are quaint outdoor cafs as well as five-star restaurants and shopping is plentiful with antique villages, art galleries and outdoor markets. Hop aboard a boat and enjoy a full-featured narrated tour of Savannahs Riverfront or view the many historical sites from a horse carriage tour. The nightlife options vary from mellow jazz clubs, major musical acts to a single guitarist strumming songs in a riverfront pub.
