Beijing Hua Yan Group and Sands China Ltd. co-host launch ceremony in Beijing

 

(Macao, March 3, 2014) - Sands China Ltd. and Beijing Hua Yan Group held a launch ceremony at the Beijing Grand National Theatre Friday, announcing a spectacular stage production, Monkey King - a Mythical Theatre Show, on its way to Macao and expected to arrive at the new theatre of Sands® Cotai Central at Cotai Strip Resorts Macao in 2015.

 

The ceremony was attended by Sands China Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Tracy, Beijing Hua Yan Group Chairman Xu Feng, executives from the two companies as well as guests from the industry.

Planned, invested and produced by Beijing Hua Yan Group, Monkey King - a Mythical Theatre Show will be performed regularly at the new theatre of Sands Cotai Central at Cotai Strip Resorts Macao.

 

Founded by highly regarded Chinese experts and scholars, cultural industry leader Beijing Hua Yan Group is a comprehensive enterprise holding the leadership position in China in the investment and production of large-scale theatrical shows. Monkey King - a Mythical Theatre Show, was created based on the Chinese classic literary work "Journey to the West," combining modern stage design and performance with multimedia technology to build a novel and magical work of performance art. Made faithfully in accordance with the original work of literature, Monkey King is a work transmitting Chinese culture, oriental wisdom and positive energy to global audiences; meanwhile, it will provide entertainment to audiences in the global commercial show market as a landmark production.

 

Sands China's past efforts in bringing rich Chinese cultural shows to Macao have included hosting the world-famous Shaolin Temple warrior monks and performances by the National Ballet of China, the China National Symphony Orchestra, China's three tenors, and world-renowned violinist Jue Yao.
