Canada's largest restaurant festival, Dine Out Vancouver, takes place between January 17 and February 2 2014, with 17-days of sample menus from more than 250 restaurants around the city, all for a prix fixe cost from $18 (approx £10.50).
Culinary highlights include Street Food City III (a collection of Vancouver's Street Food carts in one location), The Grape Debate: Secret Supper Soiree (join the London Route Master double-decker and be transported to hidden locations for canapés, drinks and dinner) and the Six Course Discourse (a rapid-fire presentation by six of the city's popular chefs along with food and wine tasting).
More than 20 hotels are offering special discounted rates from $78 per night (approx. £46), along with a selection of exclusive Dine Out packages. Flights to Vancouver, British Columbia, in January are available from £691 per person.
VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL WINE FESTIVAL
The Vancouver International Wine Festival, one of the largest celebrations of wine in North America, takes place from February 24 to March 2 2014. The 7-day event features more than 175 wineries offering 1700 wines from all over the world. With more than 50 events including wine seminars, winery dinners and an assortment of lunches and brunches at Vancouver's finest restaurants and hotels, it's a must for oenophiles. www.playhousewinefest.com
