10 months on from the earthquake – Nepal remains KE Adventure Travel's #1 destination for Himalayan adventure.
The best way to support the Nepal economy is to visit. To encourage bookings, KE Adventure Travel launched their 'Special Leap Year offer'; Anyone booking a Nepal Autumn Trekking, Family, Biking Discovery or Climbing trip from 17 Nov 2015 to 29 Feb 2016 is able to save £100 off the advertised price.
On top of the offer, KE Adventure Travel are also including free equipment hire (when booked in advanced) of a down jacket and sleeping bag to all travellers. For climbing trips, the free equipment hire also includes a harness, ice-axe, crampons and helmet worth up to £140.
“Almost a year on after the earthquake in April 2015, life is back to normal throughout Nepal.” Glenn Rowley, Director, KE Adventure Travel. “The majority of the damaged houses and buildings have now been repaired or rebuilt and villagers are continuing with their lives, either busy with the rice harvests or working in the tourist season which has, reassuringly, been quite busy. The fuel crisis has hampered progress at the end of last year but thankfully that has ended now and supplies of cement, timber and tin (for roofing) have been getting through to the Juniper Trust projects.”
KE Adventure Travel and the Juniper Trust started the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund directly after the quake and have since raised an amazing £90,000. After initial spending on emergency aid, the money has been used to help re-build 10 schools in the worst affected areas.
