Spa Village Pangkor Laut's Bukit Gantang Warrior Treatment Awarded 'Men's Spa Treatment Of The Year' At The AsiaSpa Awards 2013

YTL Hotels

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - November 2013: YTL Hotels' award-winning Spa Village brand was proud to receive another spectacular accolade this month at the AsiaSpa Awards 2013 in Hong Kong naming Spa Village Pangkor Laut's signature Bukit Gantang Warrior experience as the 'Men's Spa Treatment of the Year'. This is a premier indulgence at the brand's flagship four-acre Spa Village Pangkor Laut, opened in September 2002 by maestro Luciano Pavarotti.

YTL Hotels Vice President of Spa Division, Ms Chik Lai Ping said, "Our Spa Village brand has grown from strength to strength since its inception. We try to extol the healing culture of the region each Spa Village resides in, and it is a wonderful feeling to see this dedication acknowledged and highlighted through an AsiaSpa Award".

Every Spa Village experience begins with a soothing introduction designed to immerse guests into the healing practices of the region. On the private island paradise, Pangkor Laut's renowned 'Bath House Experience' incorporates a soothing 45-minute journey through a series of cleansing rituals, beginning with an invigorating Chinese foot pounding. Guests are then led through a rejuvenating Malay bath, moving on to the Japanese Bath House with a goshi-goshi exfoliation, followed by a soak in the heated outdoor rotenburu. This pre-treatment ritual then culminates with an invigorating Shanghai Scrub.

Suitably relaxed, guests are then guided from the Bath Houses through the tranquil spa village to one of eight treatment pavilions. Here, the Bukit Gantang Warrior experience begins. First, Urutan Panglima, a deep tissue massage is performed, its long strokes warming the tissues and muscles, increasing blood circulation and promoting regained vitality, structural alignment and flexibility. Next, a simple herbal hair wash called Ikal-Ikal follows. To tone, restore and enliven the muscles, the Boros Akar, a scrub consisting of a combination of galangal and turmeric roots, is then applied with deep scrubbing strokes.

The experience continues with the Mandian Rempah Ratus, a herbal spice bath infused with kaffir lime and fenugreek, to calm and restore body strength. This is complemented with the Mandi Wap Minyak Herba, a steam bath that penetrates the pores, lifting the spirit to complete relaxation.

The Bukit Gantang Warrior Treatment then concludes with Akar Periok, a herbal root tonic renowned for its anti-aging properties; and each gentleman ends his journey feeling relaxed and renewed, ready to further indulge in the facilities within the four-acre Spa Village Pangkor Laut - be it to snooze within one of the three nap gazebos, take a refreshing dip in the infinity pool, dine on a healthy Japanese meal at Jamu Bar or enjoy a therapeutic session with the visiting Guest Artist.
