South Africa's Adventure Province - Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency Appoints Country Representative

Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency

The EASTERN CAPE PARKS & TOURISM AGENCY, SOUTH AFRICA (ECPTA) has appointed Representation Plus as COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE to cover the UK, German & Benelux Markets following an open RFP tender process for the financial year 2016/7.

The activities to be undertaken on behalf of ECPTA include press and trade relations and communications, press and fam trip co-ordination, consumer and trade show representation and instigating joint marketing agreements with the travel trade with the aim of increasing tour operator programs, media coverage and ultimately visitor numbers.

"We are relieved to have found a professional and well established team in Europe with good knowledge of the region and look forward to positive results", commented Susan Wilson, Manager Trade & Exhibitions, ECPTA.

Representation Plus is working with their European associates Axel Kaus in Germany of Kaus Media Services and Donald Heering in Benelux of Commsultants.

"We are honoured to be asked to help to put this lesser known region of South Africa into the forefront of the minds of potential European visitors through the media and trade in Germany and Benelux", commented Alison Cryer, Managing Director, Representation Plus. "We have successfully handled pan-European campaigns for a variety of clients including Samoa, Kenya, Guernsey and Toronto. We aim to attract European visitors beyond Cape Town and Port Elizabeth to discover the nature reserves, scenery, coast, culture and heritage of Nelson Mandela's home known as the Adventure Province" continued Cryer (see www.visiteasterncape.co.za).

A full action plan has been submitted and approved by the ECPTA to achieve the KPIs set-out. The in-market representatives have begun meetings with the trade and media in both markets and have received a high level of enthusiasm and interest in what the Adventure Province has to offer. Media interviews and tour operator meetings are being set-up for WTM.
