The DHL Western Providence team of 22 players and eight managers has accepted an invitation to play rugby against the Kenyan National team in preparation for the 2015 rugby world cup qualifiers. . The team will be arriving in Nairobi in the early hours of Thursday 5 June and return on Sunday 8 June.
For rugby fans in Kenya , this is a great chance to see the DHL Western Province top players in action. The team consists of seven players with Stormers rugby experience and the fly half Robert Du Preez is South African U20 star and Varity Cup player of the tournament and flank Sikhumbuzo Notshe is a real star in the making.
Western Provinces one of the most traditional and well known rugby unions in the world Boasting the DHL Stormers (Super Rugby) and DHL Western Province (Currie Cup) as their main teams. They are based in Cape Town and boast the likes of national heroes Jean De Villiers and Schalk Burger as contracted players. One of the Western Province coaches, Jerome Paarwater has been helping Kenya for some time now and the will be staying behind in Kenya to work with the squad ahead of the qualifying matches against Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
There will be plenty of action and excitement on and off the pitch. The players will enjoy a game drive as well as participate in a rugby clinic along with the other players. We wish all the players from both team lots of luck for the adventure packed rugby weekend.
