Soma Journeys launches its new website and allows for easier navigation on all devices. Founded by former television host, Cristy Elmendorp, Soma Journeys is a boutique travel company that facilitates travel experiences while facilitating a broader connection and network with the world.

The logo for Soma Journeys is an ancient decorative motif revealing a flower-like pattern with a symmetrical structure of a hexagon, a symbol also known as the Flower of Life. The connectivity of the evenly spaced overlapping circles reflect the founder's view of life as a circular experience and the belief that we are all interconnected beings.

The name Soma has several references. It was the name of a plant that was found in Vedic sanskrit texts and it was used as one of the main ingredients in a nectar that was taken in order to connect with the Gods. In Aldous Huxley's futuristic utopian novel Brave New World, Soma was a substance that is supposed to have an affect of bliss, oblivion, pure love and utopia.

“I was inspired by these various derivations since I believe that we all possess the ability at any time to tap into a state of bliss and harmony. Sometimes, however, our daily routines, habitual thought patterns or perceived identity make it harder for us to tap into this place. Soma Journeys currently organises  expeditions to Tibet, Mongolia, Myanmar, Bhutan, Borneo and parts of China and will be including Japan, Sri Lanka and India to its offerings.
