In an unprecedented effort to provide optimal conditions, several Vermont ski resorts are making snow this week; theres natural snow in the forecast and many other Vermont ski areas already have benefited from a series of small snowstorms this week. All this snow points to great skiing and riding conditions for the upcoming weekend and for weeks to come.
The forecast calls for snow in the mountains Thursday night and Friday and many resorts received nearly 10 inches of snow already this week, adding to base depths that range up to six feet. Mother Nature has been getting a helping hand at Killington and Mount Snow. The resorts have been making snow, with both resorts noting that snowmaking is spread across a number of mountain faces, providing great snow conditions for skiers and riders of all abilities.
In addition to great conditions, Vermont resorts are providing a variety of events and activities designed to entertain and involve visitors heading to Vermont to sample the great snow. With the snow deeper and the sun higher, this is one of the best times of winter in the mountains of Vermont.
